Alopecia is the general medical term for Hair Loss and it can effect children, women and men. Alopecia can be temporary or permanent. These are just a few forms of Alopecia:
* Androgenetic Alopecia: This is hair loss known as male or female-pattern baldness. It is typically hereditary and most times it's hormonally driven. It can cause thinning in the crown and overall hair thinning. (Cleveland Clinic)
* Alopecia Areata: This is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the hair follicles, causing the hair to fall out in round small patches. It can also progress to complete hair loss (Alopecia Totalis) and loss of body hair (Alopecia Universalis). (National Alopecia Areata Foundation)
* Cicatricial Alopecia: This is scarring alopecia. This type of Alopecia is caused by a rare disorder that destroys the hair follicles and causes scaring and permanent hair loss. (Mount Sinai)
No matter the stage you are in, we are here to help you navigate your Alopecia journey. Being diagnosed with Alopecia can be a bit scary, but we are here for you. Alopecia is not a one size fits all kind of diagnosis. Everyone's journey will look different but remember you are never alone. We are a sisterhood of women with and without hair and we embrace all women and girls that need support.

Founded by Cheryl Baptiste, Bald Beauties Brunchin Foundation was created to offer women and girls with Alopecia a place to heal, connect, and find strength in sisterhood and community. Cheryl’s vision is to remind every woman and girl that her beauty and power shine beyond her hair.

Each month, women with Alopecia come together to connect, share, and grow in sisterhood. These gatherings offer a safe, uplifting space to celebrate beauty, confidence, and strength.
Bald Beauties Brunchin Foundation empower women and girls with Alopecia through advocacy, education, and community. Our mission is to empower women and girls to embrace their God-given identity, build confidence, strengthen their faith, and cultivate meaningful sisterhood through support, education, encouragement, and community engagement.
